Grant Handling, the material handling specialist and sole UK distributor of Heli Lift Trucks, announces the first of a raft of new developments from China’s No.1 manufacturer. The G2 product range and the latest technology release combine to further elevate the exceptional cost to performance ratio already offered by Heli and Grant’s unique premium-value offering.
Leading the assault is a counterbalance range of electric machines from Heli that brings further diversity to its already extensive product portfolio. The ‘G2’ series represents a versatile and forward-looking range that builds on the capabilities of the very latest generation of Lithium-ion technology.
Covering the popular 1500kg to 3800kg load range, the four wheel ‘superstar’ models deliver market leading innovation, performance, operational efficiency and value. They set benchmarks in the sector for cost versus performance, thanks to their high specification, minimum maintenance requirements, and very competitive pricing – model-for-model, on par with their diesel counterparts.
The entire range is powered by high quality CATL Lithium-ion phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. This powerful and stable technology brings with it the advantages of reduced battery size, lighter weight, longer shift cycles, enhanced safety, low noise and lower environmental impact.
The trucks all include Heli’s dedicated intelligent battery charger, which combines a modulating power output stage, a monitor unit and a charging gun, all in one integrated charging solution that automatically controls the charging process. Reassuringly, all Heli’s batteries are provided with a full 5-year warranty.
Common to the rest of Heli product range, the new trucks offer strong reliability thanks to the use of high quality components from established brands, such as their ZF transmissions which are created under a joint venture with the German engineering specialist.
Heli has also recently announced its new Fleet Intelligent Control System ‘FICS’, which is an intelligent fleet management tool that uses cloud computing to give fleet managers full visibility of the operational performance of both their fleet and its operators – all in real time.

FICS has been designed with the goals of simplifying the logistics of fleet management and enhancing site safety, together with improving overall operational efficiency and reducing costs. The scaleability of the system ensures its ease of use is maintained regardless of fleet size.
All trucks within a fleet can be individually monitored across a number of key parameters, covering the equipment’s location, activity, power systems, safety and performance.
The system can then automatically alert both operator and management of key information, such as any maintenance requirements, equipment failures or any safety breaches – such as collisions.
Scheduled reporting provides management with detailed analysis of individual equipment and overall fleet performance, giving valuable insight to inform ongoing improvements to operational efficiency and future fleet investment.
The flexibility of the system allows access through equipment-mounted terminals, as well as via the internet on either smart devices or on conventional computers. The system can also be individually customised to meet specific customer or site requirements.
Grant Handling’s existing equipment and parts inventory, which covers all key service parts across the entire Heli range, has also enjoyed enhancements, thanks to a recent investment from Heli.
The European warehouse, based in France, will see the manufacturer hold an extended equipment and parts stock, which will provide Grant with 24-hour access as well as rapid dispatch of non-service parts.
Ongoing investment in its factory facilities has enabled Heli to accelerate its ability to bring new innovations to market, with further enhancements to its offering becoming available to customers throughout the coming year.
Grant Handling, an Aprolis UK company, operates a nationwide network of service engineers who are individually equipped with purpose built dedicated service vans and backed by a UK-based technical support team. All technicians and engineers have been fully manufacturer trained.
The Heli equipment offering from Grant Handling is comprised of three and four-wheel electric trucks from 1500kg to 10000kg, LPG and diesel counterbalance forklifts from 1500kg to 25000kg and a comprehensive range of warehouse equipment.
