Is your fleet costing more than it should?

Save costs (up to 40%), reduce downtime (up to 20%).

Logistics operations rarely stand still. Production volumes increase, shift patterns evolve, premises expand and energy costs fluctuate. The forklift fleet that was the right choice a few years ago may no longer be the most productive or cost-effective solution for your business.
Whether you’re considering electric, diesel or LPG, the right decision starts with understanding how your operation works today. At Grant Handling, we help businesses identify the most appropriate forklift for their application, solutions that balance performance, productivity and total costs.

Save up to £15,000 per truck by choosing the right one

The purchase price is only one part of the overall investment. Over the lifetime of a forklift, fuel (energy cost), servicing, maintenance, and downtime have a far greater impact on the overall cost. That’s why choosing between electric, diesel and LPG is more a business decision than a product choice.
Evert operation is different. There is no one size fits. It depends on their shift patterns, where they are used, loads, lift heights and availability of charging (or refuelling). When we understand your operation the Grant Handling team will recommend a solution that delivers the best long term value.

Which fuel type is best?

The answer depends on you. There are some rules of thumb, electric forklifts are quiet and versatile, diesel offer high capacity and outdoor performance with LPG being flexible, but the best fit is business specific.

What are the advantages of electric?

Electric forklifts produce zero exhaust emissions during operation, making them well suited to indoor environments where air quality is important. They also operate with lower noise levels, improving working conditions in busy warehouse environments. Maintenance requirements are generally lower than diesel forklifts because electric trucks have fewer moving parts, no engine oil and fewer consumable components. Lithium-ion forklifts additionally support opportunity charging, allowing batteries to be topped up during operator breaks without changing batteries.

What are the advantages of diesel?

Diesel forklifts deliver high power output and strong torque, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications and uneven outdoor surfaces. Refuelling is quick compared with battery charging, which supports continuous operation across long shifts. Diesel trucks are also widely used in applications where infrastructure for battery charging may not yet be practical.

What are the advantages of LPG?

LPG forklifts offer faster refuelling than battery charging and generally produce lower emissions than diesel forklifts. They provide strong operational flexibility because they can often be used both indoors and outdoors where ventilation is suitable. For some businesses, LPG can provide a practical transition step while evaluating future electric infrastructure or wider fleet electrification strategies.
